Over 53% of users requested a fixed semver version in their list of dependencies. This is good. However, on the other side, over 18% doesn't use a specific version. This can cause software failures if a major version of semver is released.
The latest stable version is 2.13.0. If you haven't updated or tested your package, you should. There won't be any major 2 releases anymore. 😉 We are focusing on major version 3.
If you are interested in the upcoming semver3, there are already some development versions available to test your software. Check it out!
If you still depend on semver version 2, use the method that is describe in the Release policy section.
