From the OpenZaak slack:

While joining the mailinglist, i get a 500 error when i try to "sign up" with my github / gmail / account.

That's using the Sign In option on this link: https://lists.publiccode.net/hyperkitty/hyperkitty/list/openzaak-discuss@lists.publiccode.net/thread/PWR7WN747UVV7AMESSTQBFYUJW2OPTCS/

(now this isn't the mailing list, but just the archive, the user has been informed of that)

so, the user navigated to the wrong URL? I mean, only when this is reproduced it's really a bug :)

We've reproduced this over screen share. Another aspect of this is that we should add a link in the mail footer to the right place to subscribe/unsubscribe to the mailing list to make it easier for people to join or leave.

Hey @demkodo & @Ainali ! Not sure if it's related but if I access lists.publiccode.net I get a 403 :/ Is it what it's supposed to happen or it happens because I haven't written the whole Postorius URL?

@AlbaRoza I believe it is because it's not the full URL. The proper one is here: https://lists.publiccode.net/mailman/postorius/lists/
(this is also not really related to the original issue)

Let's if there is a setting in Hyperkitty to disable third party signups, if not let's close the issue since it is also a low impact bug.

@ericherman do you have a sense of whether there is a setting like this, or how much effort it would take to do remove this through other means?

I do not have a guess, I would have to investigate.
