Recommend ability to input multiple resolvable DOIs in project open data metadata. For example we mint DOIs (through DataCite) for our research datasets which is included under the file identifier field. I like to also include the associated journal article DOI (from Crossref) and the associated manuscript PMCID from PubMed Central. Presently, I've been asked to include any additional identifiers in the Abstract field which is too cluttered with information. The goal is to allow the public to swiftly navigate between the datasets and associated manuscripts and supporting materials through the use of the DOIs. If you can expand the File Identifier field to allow us to enter the DOI for Data, the DOI for the journal article, the ORCID ID of the researcher, and the PMCID of the final manuscript, you've made the task of finding related information that much easier for the public. Thanks.

Making the changes suggested by amontilla would greatly enhance public access to scientific research products.

The Holdren Memo (OSTP Memo dated Feb 22, 2013) states, "Ensure full public access to publications’ metadata without charge upon first publication in a data format that ensures interoperability with current and future search technology. Where possible, the metadata should provide a link to the location where the full text and associated supplemental materials will be made available after the embargo period..." Enabling the use of resolvable DOIs and ORCID ids will serve to fully implement this requirement. Thanks,
