Where to Find Data
Where to find: In Germany, the prototype of GovData was started as a cross-level portal. Until now, some, but not all data is available from GovData. We are working constantly on increasing the number of datasets. Additionally, some federal states and some municipalities have their own data portals; other data is available from special data catalogs, e.g. for geospatial, environmental or statistical data.
Licensing: Most, but not all data is openly licensed. It is the responsibility of every data publisher to specify the license. GovData recommends using the (open) "Datenlizenz Deutschland" ("Data License Germany", https://github.com/fraunhoferfokus/ogd-metadata/blob/master/lizenzen/BMI/data_licence_Germany_attribution_V1.md).
