How to avoid page break after a new section?

Is it possible to move the section title AUTOMATICALLY to the next page if there is only a single title?

Page breaks are a messy subject in latex; I'm certainly no expert.

I'd suggest trying \filbreak before the section headings though, which essentially gives it a weighting saying 'this is a good place to break', which will encourage but not enforce your desired behaviour.

I have a similar issue but in my case instead of moving the title to the next page, I'm wondering if there is a way to move several bullet points from the next page to the current page so there won't be too much blank at the bottom of the page. Here is a screenshot of my CV:

I used longtable instead of tabular in the cls file, which improves the result a little bit: Now at least the title "Peer-reviewed publications" is on the current page instead of the next page. However, I'm still wondering if there is a way to move a few items to the current page so there is no extra blank on the current page.

Okay, so I later gave up on using tables to format the list but simply used the cvenumerate command available in the original cls file. The code inserted in the cls file is as follows:

% Usage: \publicationlist{<class>}{<description>}
% This environment works better if the publication list is long, so the list can span multiple pages.
% The main difference is that this environment does not try to fit the list into tables but work with cvenumerate
% environment. (Note that replacing tabular with longtable or supertabular in \publication does not work.)
