While waiting for PP to finish updating quotes, it says "n operations remaining" in the statusbar. This can sometimes take very long.
Rather than having a simple count, it would be super useful to have an indication of the actual operations that are still pending. This could be done by having a small spinner on each line, both on the Statement of Assets and Securities pages.
Why:
It would make it much clearer/more obvious if there's a particular provider that's causing issues (i.e. CoinGecko rate limiting)
It would give a better idea of how accurate the current numbers are while you're still waiting for a download to complete (i.e. if all the "big holdings" are updated and just a few small ones aren't, you don't really need to keep waiting).
It could highlight if there are items you can deactivate but just forgot
...And so on.
(This presumes that "operations remaining" only refers to updating quotes. If there are other operations, then some supplementary UI might be useful - i.e. a pop-up, similar to Quicken's One-Step Update shows each item it is updating. But the concept mains the same: to have some indication of what's actually completed/pending/in progress, as currently, it's something of a mystery/black box).
