Requirements for INTERNET CONNECTED routers:

IP:
Mesh network: 100.x.x.x/10 
The last three octets are derived from the last 3 segments of the ETHERNET MAC address and converted from their hex format to decimal and placed into their respective octet locations per their position in the MAC address.
the second octet is no less that 64 and no more than 127. The MAC address is converted in modulo so that MAC=00 is IP=64 etc until IP=127 is reached and then the next MAC number becomes 64 again. See this chart: https://github.com/pittmesh/ip-calculator/issues/3


WLAN network: 10.x.x.1/24 
	The second and third octets are converted to the 3rd and 4th octets of the MESH interface. The Router always uses 1 as its own IP address for this interface.

SYSTEM:
The System name should be the MESH interface’s IP address.
The Time server should be set to 10.66.6.1
A log server should be set to 10.10.220.6

DHCP:
The Ethernet interface needs to accept a DHCP lease from an upstream router.

A DHCP server needs to be implemented on the WLAN interface for:
	begin: 10
	end: 253
	duration: 1h
	FORCE=YES (to ensure that the router is the authoritative DHCP server for the WLAN interface and not using the upstream DHCP server which WILL happen if you do not “force”)

OLSR:
Enable plugin olsrd_jsoninfo.so.0.0
ADD HNA4 announcment 0.0.0.0 netmask 0.0.0.0
ADD HNA4 announcment for 10.x.x.0 subnet (where x.x is the subnet derived from the mac-to-IP conversion earlier)
Change Link Quality Algorithm from etx_ff to etx_ffeth
Set Meshing interface to include MESH interface and enable
Set second meshing interface to include eth interface and enable
	
FIREWALL:
General Settings: Change reject to accept
Delete Wan Zone
Enable masquerading for LAN zone
Add new zone MESH
Add new zone WLAN
On zone WLAN, allow forwarding FROM LAN and to MESH
On zone MESH, allow forwarding FROM LAN and to WLAN
under custom rules drop in: 
	iptables -I FORWARD -i wlan0-1 -d 192.168.0.0/16 -j DROP
iptables -I FORWARD -i wlan0-1 -d 10.0.0.0/8 -j DROP
iptables -I FORWARD -i wlan0-1 -d 172.16.0.0/12 -j DROP
