We're working on this. For now, you may run multiple instances and mount a common, shared subfolder in each originals folder for pictures that everyone should see like |

Multi-user registration is the feature I am still missing. Other than that, I don't miss anything at all. |

Same here. I am dumping my Synology to go full Unraid. Of all the alternate solutions to Photos and Moments in Synology, Photoprism is the best one for my needs. Piwigo a close second. Multi-user is the one thing that is making me keep my old Synology for now. My Wife, son and I have very different photo preferences, so it is quite important for us to be able to keep most photos separated but have the option to merge some photos to a common database as well. |

Like @isisyodin said, it would be sick to have a shared library between users that multiple users can contribute to from their own libraries, akin to the new iCloud Shared Photo Library. The shared library flows naturally from having multiple users. |

I really appreciate the responses to this feature; it's clear you all intend to get it working, and as the commercial customers fund the development, releasing it to them first pushes the project forward. As a home user that can't contribute financially, is there anything I can do to help push this feature? Is there an unstable testing branch that you need users willing to run in a closed beta? Do you need someone willing to test tying this into ldap or saml? |

i agree that Multiple Users with multiple gallerys might be a bigger project. Edit: i see i'm too late... |

Currently testing Photoprism, and first to say great job! Secondly, I am looking from a maybe different perspective, or not. I like having multiple accounts, but it's not a deal breaker. PASSWORD MODE: PUBLIC MODE: For any mode, uploads of any regular users are public. Unless they mark an item as private. Is it then needed to have multiple users who are fully fledged users? Not sure. Judging by the project, I would say it was not intended to go that way. |

Will every user be able to get his own WebDav later on**?** I ask because a buddy of mine, who is fortunately an Android developer, is writing a webdav uploader that will allow me to at least always upload all photos from my Android phone without a ready-made photoprism Android app. @lastzero you had advised me in another ticket to just use the PWA. Yup, it's very good! |

Love your work! Will this include support for SSO solutions like SAML or OIDC? |

Will the multiple user-feature be something that will be available to the open source version, or will it be put behind a subscription model? |

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question, but I think its relevant to the topic. I am using Photoprism on my homeserver and I think it is an amazing application. Now I am only using it for my own personal photos, but my wife would like to upload her own photos too. Me and my wife have our separate photo-albums, so in an ideal world we would be able to see all the photos from both our albums, but I would also be able to filter out only my own album. As I have understood I can add an admin-user for my wife in console, so that we have separate accounts. If my wife then uses her account to import photos, will it be tracked that these photos was uploaded from her account or will they just blend in with my own photos? I know this is a feature in development, I just wanted to know if this is the route to go for my use-case or if Im better of running multiple instances, or maybe you see a solution for my use-case that I dont see. Thanks for any assistance, and thank you so much for your brilliant work. |

Hi @lastzero Michael, Apologies in advance if this has been answered before but I read through the discussion thread and understood that in the community edition, I can create a second user via CLI and assign it a role.
Thank you for creating this wonderful app. |

Hi @lastzero, thank you for your (and the contributors)'s hard work to make the project awesome. Multi-user/secured shared link is a very important feature, and personally I am happy to support the project financially. |

Ahhh OK. Looks like I was wrong about the meaning of "user management is currently only available from the command line". |

Hi! I am not sure to be understanding this correctly: so currently multiple users can be created but they all share a common library, right? |

As this is the discussion page for "the hottest issue" #98 Sharing some/certain photos with others is, of course, an important feature. In December I finally fully "de-googled" and now I use Syncthing to connect my phone(=camera) to a PhotoPrism docker instance on a VPS. It's really a great piece of software, except for the sharing part :) Every now and again I checked into PhotoPrism; I noticed the split in terminology with the paid edition(s), and I was curious about its future, and where this particular feature would end up. After reading through various Github issues, I changed my stance completely and signed up for PhotoPrism Plus. To those who are thinking "I would get a PhotoPrism+ subscription if it had this feature", I would like to say: get that subscription now. Help the developers. You will get this feature. At the moment Photoprism looks like a (probably unhealthy) balancing act for @lastzero and @graciousgrey - compromises have to be made. I admire your stamina! Get on their side and make your own compromise: Weigh up your monetary contribution against ALL the features you are and will be getting, not just that one you're desperately waiting for. |

Any chance users could have uid/gid associated so files that are added by them will have files on filesystem appropriately owned? |

If I dont see it wrong, it seems that the Essential package has now role support? |

The pro version of Photoprism has a contributor roles which seems to do exactly what is being asked for here: https://www.photoprism.app/pro/kb/roles
Given that it now exists for Pro, it is just a matter of time before it trickles down to the more affordable personal versions, or is there a techincal limitation / financial decision that means we won't see this role? |

Hi there,
Now I've created two users ("A" and "B") in PhotoPrism that shall "mirror" their respective Nextcloud accounts. Both users "A" and "B" should have access to all "Family" pictures plus their own images in Nextcloud. Is there a way to solve this? As an example; if "A" searches for all pictures with person "Max", "A" should be able to view all images from "Family" and his/her own images from Nextcloud. |

In which version do you support defining policies for albums? The idea would be that users can modify any albums that "belong" to them (aka their album ID is prefixed by the user's ID) and public albums? In which version do you support OIDC? |

Does a single instance of Photoprism support multiple users? I'd like to enable my family to use photoprism all from one installation but everybody should have their own private repository for the photos but with the option to share, just as can be done with google photos at the moment
