Chlorophyll concentration estimated from ocean color is used to observe distributions of phytoplankton biomass in surface ocean waters.

Source File Organization

Files come in multiple time and spatial resolutions; for now our interest is in the files are that are:

  • one file per day
  • data are mapped onto lat/lon coordinates at 4km resolution
  • a test set of daily files from April 2022 will be used to start
  • note that some days in April are missing
