Currently, default usernames need to be specified one at a time (with at least 10 being required for the setting to take effect). It would be nice if we could specify a pattern or number range in the default username, so we can just type one pattern but have it expand out to numerous names.
For example, the custom web IRC chat I implemented for a stream used the pattern normie-## for its default username, meaning someone joining would randomly be assigned normie-04, normie-92, normie-48, etc.

It's a fine idea. But many people like specifying entirely different names, so this wouldn't be able to replace that. And instead it would add complexity to something that is supposed to be a very trivial, optional feature.
But more so, I don't see myself working on this. But if somebody felt super passionate about it, and had opinions on how it would work without making the admin more complex, I'd be up for that conversation.
