esp32c3 should have 400K or ram, showing only 200K ??

The specs for my esp32c3 module say it has 400K of ram and 4M of flash on board.

But for some reason, when I show the mem info , it only shows about 200K available.

I've tried both the public built firmware ESP32_GENERIC_C3-20240222-v1.22.2.bin
and a locally built version as well. Same result. Only 200ish K of ram.

I also have a esp32s3 SPIOCT board on hand. It comes with 8M of ram. It shows correct. Again, with both the public firmware, and my locally built firmware.

Is this an issue with the micropython firmware ? Or.. the boards themselves?
I have not yet tried just building a raw Arduino sketch that dumps available ram. I might give that a try next though.

is this just an iram / dram thing? is about 200k of the 400K iram and the rest dram?
