Where does the name "log-ratio profile" come from? Are they from existing literature? "log" and "ratio" make a very strange combination.

Up to my limited knowledge, this name is given by Prof. Nocedal in the paper "On the numerical performance of finite-difference-based methods for derivative-free optimization" (first appear in Page 7). This profile was called "relative performance" in the original paper by Prof. Morales.
