zpool trim won't work when ZPOOL_VDEV_NAME_FOLLOW_LINKS is set

zpool trim

cannot trim '/dev/nvme1n1p1': no such device in pool
for every device

The problem goes away when I clear the environment variable

ZPOOL_VDEV_NAME_FOLLOW_LINKS
