There is no dunfell version but kirkstone does exist - https://cgit.openembedded.org/meta-openembedded/tree/meta-networking/recipes-connectivity/openthread?h=kirkstone

perhaps you can backport it to dunfell without much issues.

we usually do not so major changes in release branches. This is a complete new recipe being asked for backporting. I would suggest that you carry this locally in your projects until you upgrade to kirkstone or newer release where this recipe is available
