Python sometimes (but reliably) crashes at the very end of the experiment #767

Some experiments reliably end with a "Python seems to have crashed" error. The error is harmless because everything seems to have completed successfully, suggesting that Python crashes at the very end, possibly while transferring the workspace from the experiment process to the GUI.
