[Feature request] logger tests

Describe the feature
It will be useful to have some tests which checks that the logger continues to log the same things (for each test suite). Similar to the regression tests for the suite to produce the same output over time, we would like to have a regression test for the logger(s) to continue producing the same data. Likely, these two tests can be combined to save time (because both will need to evaluate some points on the test suites).
