Loading to blender debian question

 From the website I assumed I would be able to use the plugin on a debian based os with Blender. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or it is just not supported. I looked through the issues and thought it might be best to ask elsewhere first instead of raising an issue. If this is the wrong place to ask this question then please direct me to the correct place.
 I attempted to add the latest release as shown in the video. I was unsuccessful with the attached error message.
