Soulseekqt has an option to combine downlaods and uploads into a single tab stacked on top of each other. Mayhaps N+ could have it, too?

It would be a lot of work for little benefit.

There would need to be a better argument presented in this feature request, other than the fact that Qt has it.

I think it's useful to have both in the same tab as I always leave N+ on the downloads tab most of the time. But if it'd be a problem, and no one else seems to have made this request, I guess my suggestion's too niche :/

It's not really niche, considering for example many torrent clients have this kind of stacked layout some by default. The benefits of this given your explanation does make sense, and albeit low priority, is worthy of consideration at some point in future.
