Reason: I sometimes decide to share an article in the middle of reading it. Then I highlight random text near where I pause reading to quickly refind the paragraph where I paused. The g-reader always annoyed me by putting the halfsentences in the share-field instead of the article's title.
Ah. Hm, I thought it was useful. Not that important anyway. If I ever get around to implement this, maybe it could be made easy to turn it off in the code.
Google Reader did that as well. If the user selects text before clicking the share-bookmarklet, that text should go into the comment box.
