Hi Everyone! I was excited to find the program, but the questionnaire for the Email List left me wondering if the research fields/domains I work in aren't actually part of what this program is aiming at:

• Life Science
• Social Science
• Applied Science (Engineering)

If they are actually included, I suggest adding them to the form. Otherwise, this feels restricted to the listed domains.

Hello @larnsce , thank you for providing us with this feedback. We will look to make changes to be more inclusive of all scientific fields. Open science is meant to open up research and information to everyone, and it will take all of us to make it so.

As a relatively new NASA contractor in the Earth Sciences division at Goddard, and coming from a very open science oriented NSF synthesis center (the National Socio-Environmental Synthesis Center), I don't think the Year of Open Science can come soon enough!

I have designed and taught lessons on open source tools for reproducible research and am currently investigating AI/ML models to estimate phytoplankton community composition using the (forthcoming) PACE ocean color instrument. I am interested in the benefits that TOPS could bring to PACE!

👋 Hello everyone!

My name is Sarah and I'm currently head of DevRel at Sentry. I've been passionate about reducing the obstacles for more people to get into science from all sides and was really excited to learn about this effort! I have had the opportunity to work with NASA as an undergrad at UCSD and as a developer advocate at Microsoft, and am looking for ways to further engage either as an individual or through my company.

Looking forward to learning more about the efforts and identifying a good opportunity for me to engage! 🚀
