Consider the code snippet below, and you cannot set the background color and border radius at the same time:

button = view.findViewById(R.id.purchase_button_cool_button);
button.setBackgroundColor(xxx);
button.setBorderRadius(button.getBorderRadius());
button.setBorderStroke(button.getBorderStroke());
