Before upgrade:

firmware-version: ____010000-20220209150915 (2022-02-09)

After upgrade:

firmware-version: ____010000-20231109190959 (2023-11-09)

That is a nearly 2 year upgrade to the firmware. That is a really big upgrade as modern WiFi 6 adapters and drivers are very complicated. I think there have been around 10 upgrades to that firmware in the time span we are looking at so your system really needed that upgrade. It is not clear to me why Ubuntu is not flowing the upgrades into your system. They should be doing so. Maybe you should file a bug.

I then removed the old device and tried to connect again and it worked!!

I'm glad that it is working now but it is not clear…
