Slash in performer is not stored correctly

I've set single performer names in my files like "AC/DC" or "Au/Ra" and they are not handled correctly. When reading back the file to detect necessary changes, they appear as two performers with "AC" and "DC" or two "Au" and "Ra". What's the problem here and how can it be fixed?

Version 2.3.0, observed with MP3 and AAC files, using the example code
