when model starting date is not 00z or 1st day of the month, but in diag_table set up as daily or monthly mean, it will not give you the real daily or monthly mean you want.
For example, if starting date is Jan 01 03Z, then the 1st daily average will be 0103Z-0203Z instead of 0103Z-0124Z.
For monthly average, if starting date is Jan 05, theh the 1st monthly mean will be 0105-0204 instead of 0105-0131.

This needs a new feature request in FMS.

Thanks jiande, do you think we can close this one? Seems to be an FMS issue. I doubt we have much control here

@marshallward on EMC side we prefer to keep this open for tracking purpose, as eventually we will test in MOM6 when FMS group has something for us
