I like sponsorships but maybe we can talk with The Deck about possibly working with them: http://decknetwork.net/

Maybe we can have a premium offer we can sell and use The Deck when we haven’t sold a sponsorship.

This may also be an option: http://adpacks.com/
Type-scale uses them, or we could find other opportunities through https://buysellads.com/

I use Fusion ads on Nice Web Type. They've been reliable and haven't caused any problems for the site. Another option. http://fusionads.net/

I'm tempted to launch with no ads, no sponsorship prompt, and think about this more. Many visitors spend hours at modularscale.com, so a random ad could potentially be an eyesore. Plus, this could be an opportunity to do something fun — something time-based, that's worth more than an impression.

@tbrown I’m thinking about monetization more, would be nice to have something?
