=>amphibrachys

amphibrachys         N      2 7 NOM S M
amphibrachys         N      2 7 VOC S M
amphibrachysos, amphibrachi N M [XPXFS] veryrare
          ^^^^            ^

As I understand INFLECTS.LAT and https://philolog.us/ls/amphibrachys, the forms should be amphibrachys, amphibrachyos. It looks like the following nouns are affected:

$ grep "[oy]s .* 2 7 " DICTLINE.GEN | cut -f1 -d' '
amphibrachys
Androgeos
botrys
chelys
chrysophrys
dibrachys
tribrachys

thanks - I did look into this when you submitted it; it's pretty easy to fix (I believe) - I'm going to have some ppl who know more Latin than I do check it out, and get it fixed in a week or two

Ok, the feedback was:

So, in type rather than alphabetical order:

amphibrachys, yos, m. (from Gr. ἀμφιβραχυς - the metrical foot ^-^ (i.e. a short on either side of a long))
dibrachys, yos, m. (from Gr. διβραχυς - a metrical foot of two short syllables)
tribrachys, yos, m. (from Gr. τριβραχυς - metrical foot consisting of three short syllables)

Botrys, yos, f. (from Gr. Βοτρυς - a town in Phoenicia)
Chrysophrys, yos, f. (from Gr. χρυσοφρυς - a golden fish with a golden spot over each eye*)
Chelys, acc. Chelyn, voc. Chely, f. (other forms apparently not in use. χελυς - tortoise)

Androgeos, o and Androgeus, i, m. (Name - Ἀνδρογεως)

NB: the three metrical words in ys, yos are masculine; the three other nouns in ys, yos are feminine. Note also the name Ἀνδρογεως has a Greek form in the Latin as well as a properly Latinised version

*yeah I've got no idea either tbh. This is all from the Lewis and Short)

First, I made a typo above. The correct spelling is chrysophrys.

Second, I spent a little time trying to clean up this issue and clean up the handling of Greek nouns a bit more in the process.

I'm going to post some diffs to my branch for discussion. Mechanically, the changes are pretty simple: Add, remove, and modify a few DICTLINE entries; modify the INFLECTS for 2 7 (and, I propose 4 4, though I'm not sure it's the right approach); and change a hard-coded string in support_utils-dictionary_line.

My Greek is not good, but I think the changeset strikes a pretty decent balance of capturing both OED and L+S's entries without generating clearly erroneous results.

I hope this was helpful and look forward to feedback.

Change hardcoded strings for newly added 4 4 (see INFLECTS diff for explanation)

Change 2 7 to conform to A&G 82, 52 to address issue mk270#101

This change breaks one 2 7 entry: echo. The echo entry was incorrect, so I have conformed it to OED and L+S. It otherwise comports with the Latin 4th, which appears to be the view of those dictionaries. I haven't yet found anything indicates this approach is incorrect.

Changes to address the 2 7 problems in issue mk270#101

There was one more 2 7 noun not addressed in the discussion of mk270#101 or the previous diffs: pygargus. It was coded was source: W, for "Whitaker's guess." Both OED and L+S treat it as 2 1, so that's what I've done.

I have put the relevants parts of @spr93 's changes into a branch, at https://github.com/mk270/whitakers-words/tree/issue-101; after a bit more testing this can probably be merged.
