Can we run MirageOS on a bare metal server for better performance. #1395

I know it runs on hypervisors like Xen and etc, but would like to use full performance like running it on a bare metal server?

Hi, thanks for your interest. There's certainly some work in this area:

Thus, yes it can be done. I've not seen it with bare-metal x86 hardware though -- and a big issue are drivers for network cards etc.

Thanks for responding. I would like to know if I run it on a hypervisor doesn't it defeat the purpose of performance (due to no context switching).
