To match what the web client does. We can use the github CLI to do this.

what's the advantage of a release for us?

It just creates inconsistencies when creating releases with the CLI vs web editor. I create a release from the web editor so we have one but the CLI only creates tags.

github has released a CLI that's fairly completed , we could simply do gh release create <tag>
