The Console font collapses spaces

Describe the bug
The Console font collapses spaces so strings are misrepresented.

Expected behavior
Particularly it a teaching tool addressing strings and text, it is important the spaces can be seen and counted. This would be the case if a fixed-width font like Courier New were used (by default or by choice) for the Console window.
