There is currently no azcmagent rpm package for almalinux 8 and 9 in the official ms repo at https://packages.microsoft.com

Also not for rocky linux

As described in the official azure arc docs, there should be supported agents for azure arc for almalinux 9 and rocky linux 8 / 9.

Hey @pirminjanka,

We pull our agent packages from the RHEL repo for these distros. In our installation script (https://aka.ms/azcmagent), lines 524, 527 and 547 show this behavior.

Hope this helps!

Ryan from the Arc-enabled servers team

So this is officially supported? azcmagent from RHEL Repo and mdatp from Alma Repo?
Or is it also possible to take the mdatp package from the RHEL repo for alma? So that we only need to add one repo (the rhel repo) for alma?

I don't know if it's supported to use the RHEL repo for the mdatp package, sorry. That's a question that will need to be asked to the Defender team.

Hi @pirminjanka, thx for opening this issue. Since this is upstream-related feature request, per our guidelines in the Feature request template, for a core product issue or feature request/feedback, please create an official Azure support ticket or general feedback request.

I will go ahead and close this for now.
