Running project with USB Host Shield and Arduino Leonardo

I have been reading through your project and keyvilboard because I am trying to understand how usb keyloggers work and usb in general. I wanted to recreate your wifi usb keylogger project so I could get a better understanding, but the USB Host Mini from hobbytronics is no longer for sale.

Would I be able to accomplish what the same features with your project if I were to use a USB Host Shield 2.0 with an Arduino Leonardo? Specifically I wan to be able to pass the raw keyboard input taken from the USB Host Shield straight to the host computer like you mention here "passing of raw HID".
