Inspired by the talk Building a Memex by Andrew Louis I've started a side project like this.
The idea is to record everything I do. Similar to the quantified self movement where as much data as possible is collected. However the idea is to build a tool to remind myself of things I did and learned in the past instead of focusing on the data visualization part. The Notes database is a subset of this idea.
Here is the code: https://github.com/adri/memex

Tech is Meilisearch (duh), Elixir, Phoenix Liveview, Tailwind CSS, SQLite, JQ.

I started with a React based frontend using Algolias Search UI. However it got quite complex very quickly. Because I need to get new data from Meilisearch for almost all user actions anyway I switched to Phoenix LiveView using web sockets instead – I like the speed and simplicity 👍
Meilisearch is working great. I still have to update to the latest version. Indexing speed probably improved. In my use-case I have a timeline that I want to filter so the typo-correction is not useful, an exact match would be great. I also like to search for geo-locations (photos etc) if that's available to search on.
