Since I'm just using the bridge to manually bridge a few rooms (rather than get all my Discord stuff on Element), I'd prefer to have the ability to turn off DM bridging.

I think it could be interesting to solve this similar to what we already have for guilds.
I mean so that you can choose between something similar like: "no dm at all", "if dm already exists", "create new contact on message" and "create every contact right away"
