Firstly many thanks for bringing Growl to Linux. :-)

Would it be possible to add a daemon-only mode, like a gntpd, which forwards all messages to all subscribers?

Basically this would be a strip of the whole GTK stuff.

This would be very useful for broadcasting messages on the local network.
Especially in smart home environments it is a good method to get cross platform notifications on all clients.

Wow, that was a quick response :-)

Yes, that's right.

You run it as a daemon and subscribe your clients.
When you then send a message all subcribed clients get the growl.
