my plan is to start work on this this weekend.

I couldn't find a way to import from DokuWiki to MediaWiki and maintain edit history, we'd have to code it ourselves. Ergo my solution is just to import it manually with a wiki note regarding date of import etc. If someone has a better solution let me know.

I just had an idea regarding the OLD historical mess.org content.

In MAME history page we have the old Gridle WIP. But there used to be similar at mess.org before redump.net took over hosting.

AFAIK we do not have backup of old site, so Internet Archive is backup.
