ESC key terminates (crashes?) application

Opening a context menu in a view e. g. with the right mouse button, and then leaving it by pressing the ESC key, the application will be terminated by the next press of the ESC key. All views besides the files view (top,left) are concerned.
It seems to be a crash, because it takes a little bit longer (hourglass) and the list of recent files didn't get updated.
