We have a committee using Loomio (main group), and a subcommittee using a subgroup. I am no longer a member of the committee, but I remain a member of the subcommittee.

I also have other groups on Loomio, and when I am busy in another group, and then want to switch to the subcommittee, I cannot:

First, I click on the group in the sidebar:

This takes me to the committee group, where I am told that I do not have permission "to do this".

When I click on "Subgroups", I am also told I do not have permission.

Meanwhile, the group in the side bar has not been opened, i.e. still looks the same as in the screenshot above.

I have to click the group on the sidebar again and now it unfolds, though because it's at the bottom of the list, the subgroups actually don't scroll into view.

Only after I did all of the above and scrolled down can I finally access the subgroup.

Yes, of course I could bookmark it, but I also feel like the UX here could be improved:

  • Do not even show groups that I don't have access to. If I am only a member of a subgroup, then that is the only thing I should see;
  • Unfold the sidebar group on first click already;
  • Make sure that all subgroups get scrolled into view.
