Why do I need to login to use the lightdash cli ?

I am testing the lightdash app, self-hosting it.
Wondering why i need to login to use a cli tool ?
What are the data collected by using the cli ?
Is it possible to host lightdash fully independantly or will there be a dependency to lightdash infra / cloud ?
