Not sure if this this platform dependent but I'm on Android.

Toggling between the three settings for "Hide Master System Side Borders", you can see that the aspect ratio doesn't change (regardless of the aspect ratio setting), which is a problem when you're literally changing the ratio of pixels in one axis compared to another.

Looks like the option to show the borders also doesn't properly pass on the true resolution to retroarch
