Steps to add ES to heroku:

Go to Resources / Add more Addons
Add Elasticsearch plugin, for example: SearchBox ElasticSearch
Install
Pick your plan, for example : Starter - Free
On your resources , you will see added Elasticsearch and also heroku added automatically the SEARCHBOX_URL in your settings, reveal env.
Create your index
on resources, click on SearchBox ElasticSearch, you will be redirected to dashboard.

Click on Dashboard drop down - go to indices

Create a new index

Your types will be added automatically.
