I have looked at the code but it I am not able to figure out what "ignoreForeground" really does.

When I select it, it seems to not learn new things.
For example. I take a new reference background image. Now place an object in the room. But no matter what the learnRate is set to the object never turns black; i.e. becomes part of the background.
