I just install Tusk, and dark-Theme does not work, where do I check if there is any file missing or configuration?

  • OS: Ubuntu 14.04
  • Tusk Version: Tusk 0.11.0 (x64)

Thanks, I realy like the app!!

This is indeed weird, themes work fine on both Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04, would you mind sharing the type of the package you used to install Tusk? As a reminder, you need to press Ctrl D in order to enable the dark theme or to click on the View > Toggle Theme > Dark Theme menu option. The list of all keyboard shortcuts supported by Tusk can be found here.

I install .deb package: tusk_0.11.0_amd64.deb

tusk_dark

As you can see(Hope you can see the image, I've never post in here before, ), theme only works on the scroll bar on the note section, activating theme turn it black and desactivating it gets white.

edit: in the image it's activated

You have opted in for the new version of Evernote, which is still under active development and is not currently supported by Tusk. The new version will be eventually supported once it has completely replaced the currently running one. Unfortunately, at this moment, the only way to use Tusk is by switching to the current/original version:

Thank you a lot for taking the time to report the issue : )

Oh, I get it.
The reason I change to new version was because the old one do not support "code block" :'(.
I really appreciate the time and work on this app!

Same here.. Tusk is awesome, but unfortunately my team uses Spaces, so I need it updated to use Evernote on Linux

Seems that the Linux client now also works with the new evernote web.
Quite some stuff doesn't work properly however, such as exporting/printing notes.

@RPDiep which version of the Linux client supports the new Evernote Web?

RPDiep commented Nov 9, 2018

@dserodio Still 0.11. It may be related that I installed chromium on the same laptop and around then it worked. The extra features that tusk comes with don't, actually. But it no longer complains that the new version isn't supported.

Do you have the schedule to support theme toggle for the new evernote? I hope I can use dark theme asap.

I started using the app today and signed up for a new Evernote account. Came here because the themes didn't work and found this thread. I've not opted for a newer version, just the default that came out of the box with a new install of Tusk and a new Evernote account. If the newer version isn't going to be supported imminently, is it possible to default to the older version to avoid confusion for new users?

I'm in the same boat as @Hector95

Switching to old version is solving my problem. Thanks! Tusk is awesome!

Am I facing the same issue here? Shortcuts don't work on Fedora 30 using 0.23.0 of Tusk, installed via rpm from the latest build.

I specifically can't use edit my shortcut keys or open them using the Ctrl+, shortcut. I can't do things like export as Markdown or add hyperlinks via shortcut keys, but I can do some formatting basics like bolding are working just fine. It's hit or miss down this list: https://github.com/klaussinani/tusk#keyboard-shortcuts

Thanks for anyone weighing in here.

On a side note - maybe Hacktoberfest is a good chance to get contribution? https://hacktoberfest.digitalocean.com/

@mbbroberg All shortcuts work fine on Windows 10 adn Ubuntu. Maybe you have to setup an default editor to open the ~/.tusk.json file or maybe try the snapcraft installer https://snapcraft.io/tusk instead of rpm

@novdddd I appreciate the note. I've since uninstalled the rpm and used snapd to install Tusk. Unfortunately that's not working at all:

~]$ sudo snap list
Name Version Rev Tracking Publisher Notes
core 16-2.41 7713 stable canonical✓ core
tusk 0.23.0 29 stable klaussinani -
~]$ sudo snap start tusk
error: snap "tusk" has no services
~]$ tusk
~]$

Trying to start Tusk -- even after reboot -- results in nothing happening. I have an application icon in the Gnome launcher for Tusk but that doesn't start it either. ps aux doesn't show a tusk task running. Any tips?

I tried switching to old version but themes were partially working there as well (notes tab was dark, the note itself rendered in light)

As a visually impaired user, i was looking to improve my Evernote usability and found tusk. Is this issue still unsolved? I have installed the Evernote preview version side by side with the legacy 6.2. After uninstalling the preview on Win10, tusk behaviour is still not changing and everything but the side panel shows a white background even when switching the themes.
Is it possible right now to run tusk as intended? which version of Evernote would be required?
