recent update made it worse

Everything used to work fine, sending youtube vids from chrome browser to remote Kodi connected to TV.
After a recent upgrade, performance is improved (nice), however, if I try to send another you tube video while another one is playing, it only stop the currently playing video on Kodi, and never actually start playing the new video. Using the plugin again to push the video at this point does work, but it is annoying to have to send the request twice when a video is already playing, or to remember to stop the video playing before pushing the next one.
I preferred the older slower version, which was slower sure, but worked every time.
