Compiling the latest git and having played namco2x6 games fine before i am getting an "arcade driver unspecified" error when selecting a game

I think it's because the arcadedef you're loading doesn't have "driver": "sys246", in it

my arcadedefs have that line in them as i copy the arcadedefs over when cloning the git

Where are you copying them? If you're building the emulator yourself, I think it will look for the arcadedefs in /usr/local/share/arcadedefs. I think CMake can also install (copy) the files, but I'm not too sure where they are located.

I think the workflow is not great on Linux and probably needs improving.

yes it is working when i copy them to that folder. As i prefer installing them away from root it wasnt picking them up elsewhere
