Mouse regularly becomes unresponsive for a few seconds

teleport appears to work well for me except when controlling the other Mac the mouse becomes momentarily unresponsive (maybe 2 seconds) then I get control back. This happens on a cyclical basis every 5 minutes or so. The connection is through my Wifi, perhaps I need to to connect both Macs via my ethernet hub?

Yes, definitely connect them directly. Note that you can't tell teleport which connection to use, so turn your wifi off, connect teleport, and then re-connect the wii. It seems to remember but sometimes it will shift back to the wifi. You can check trusted hosts to make sure it's using the private network you create between the 2 computers.

I have mine connected with a thunderbolt cable, so i have 10Gb/s which really helps when your clipboard gets huge; it also make file sharing a LOT faster
