Category name split into separate letters after edit on Thunderbird and sync back to server #621

Your environment

Opensuse 15.3 Linux with Kopano v11 groupware and z-push 2.6 EAS
TbSync version: 4.3
Thunderbird version: 102.3.3

Expected behavior

Edit contact on Thunderbird and sync with server, changes are synced and nothing is broken

Actual behavior

After sync back to server the category is exploded e.g. 'Friend' is converted to 6 categories: 'F','r','i','e','n' and 'd'

Steps to reproduce

Edit a contact on TB and sync

To help resolving your issue, enable debug logging (TbSync Account Manager -> Help) and send me the debug.log via e-mail (use the title of your issue as subject of the email).

Have you used one of the intermediate pre releases and upgraded to the final one without an account disable-enable cycle? That issue was caused by one of the pre releases and should no longer happen (on a fresh sync). DAV or EAS?

Where do you see the split categories? Are they already synced back to the server?

This problem is still present: Newly added account in my TB (TbSync + EAS-Provider + CategoryManager, all in current version) to Kopano on server-side

Further observations:

  • After adding a category (f.e. 'Personal') in Kopano WebApp, syncing to TB, changing something in TB and resyncing back: the category is also exploded/split into single letters.
  • The adressbook-fields 'position', 'title' and more in TB do not sync to the corresponding fields in my Kompano WebApp: Some data is placed in other fields in the Kompano WebApp, some data of TB stays present in TB but is not visible in Kompano (and vice versa).
