I am trying to use the lib reading the documentation, the main documentation https://github.jcabi.com/ has the link "JavaDoc 1.8.0" which unfortunately gives a 404.

Can you point me to the current API docs or fix the link?

Found the docs, I think, at https://www.javadoc.io/doc/com.jcabi/jcabi-github/latest/index.html. Hope you will take this issue to fix the link, it is so much easier using the API with the API documentation available.
