I wrote a script to install 2.4.9, the latest stable version of OpenCV. Note that the only things to be changed were some names, print statements, and the URL for OpenCV.
Tested on my machine with Linux Mint 17, and everything checks out.

Sorry- I'm realizing now that the best place for this would probably be a pull request. However, I'm going to leave this here in case someone needs it.
