This is what the logfile shows after I restart:

26-9-2014 11:40:23 foobar2000 SmartMute
26-9-2014 11:40:23 PerformOperation SetVolumeTo 0
26-9-2014 11:40:23 foobar2000 For sessioninstanceid {0.0.0.00000000}.{some_guid}|\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Program Files (x86)\foobar2000\foobar2000.exe%b{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}|1%b3012: muted = False
26-9-2014 11:40:23 foobar2000 SmartMute
26-9-2014 11:40:24 foobar2000 Pause
26-9-2014 11:40:24 foobar2000 RunProc
26-9-2014 11:41:15 mute.fm loaded!

There is no exception or other message shown when mutefm stops.
Hope you can fix this, loving this app.

Found some exception information in the eventlog:

Uitzonderingsinformatie: System.AccessViolationException
Stack:

   bij System.Windows.Forms.Application+ComponentManager.System.Windows.Forms.UnsafeNativeMethods.IMsoComponentManager.FPushMessageLoop(IntPtr, Int32, Int32)

   bij MuteFm.UiPackage.UiCommands.InitUI(Boolean)
   bij MuteFm.Program.Init(System.String[])

and the unmanaged information is that it crashes in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ieframe.dll at 0x00064778

Seems to be related to kb2977629.
I uninstalled that and it seems to run better.
Might I ask why you even need ieframe.dll?

You should be able to uninstall the update through the control panel. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/remove-update#1TC=windows-7

Thanks for your quick respons! :) I can't find it in the list, so it probably doens't help on my pc. Now I've given it a second look the logs aren't exactly the same too. I'm using windows media player and in my log it says at the end: Muted = true, when my music should start playing again. It was worth looking into though. Thankyou for your help :)

No problem, good luck hunting down the problem.

I have similar issue, but on Win10x64 with Mute.fm 0.9.15 and Foobar 1.4 or 1.4.1b2
The music in Foobar fades out when something else starts, but does not restart after.
In fact it fades out successfully, then it continues to play the music muted during the other sounds and when there is silence it tries to fade in but the music does not start.

Foobar2000 and Mute.fm was reinstalled several times, settings were reseted as well.
What can be the root cause?
