Btw, for anyone who is maybe interested in working on a logo, here are some brief notes for background and inspiration for visual themes;

Goes without saying that this projects project and home page has the 'skinny' on what this project is about.

For reference, the closest two FOSS projects are https://jackaudio.org and probably/arguably https://www.alsa-project.org and https://lv2plug.in, but, saying that, NSM can be implemented by any kind of application, so a video editing or notepad app could have NSM support (so if it's added to an NSM session, it'll reload it's exact state next time the session is started).

@diovudau I'm not sure why a potential designer not making further contact would stop our interest in the Open Source Design group helping facilitate the opportunity for a further party to get involved.

This issue is generally about a new logo, not just contact with OSD. For these two reasons I'm reopening.

@Erioldoesdesign we're still "in the market" for a new logo. Reflecting on the listing now, it's quite short and abstract. An extended wording would help provide context and clarity and allow designers to be intrigued and motivated. My first thought is "New logo for 'NSM', OSC-based audio session manager API and reference client", though I see a form of description for some Jobs in their subheadings so maybe there is a better copyedit to be had?

Edit: might as well ask; @Erioldoesdesign, how about the possibility of a shoutout from the Twitter account? Like, "Any audio geek designers out there? NSM is a community-led session management API, daemon and reference front-end manager that can save and recall the state of client music production apps and their connections. #osdesign #signalboost #logo" or something like that?

But I want to add that I am not 100% sure why New Session Manager needs a logo at all. Sure, nice to have, but it is a background server. That said, other server programs have logos as well.

"NSM", as has been noted in countless #lad discussions, means more than one thing.

Apps could use the logo to signify to users, in a form often easier and quicker than just text, that they are "NSM ready", so to say.

Sorry I forgot to write something up, and real life is just about to swallow my energy for a month (Edinburgh Fringe things, then a festival in England). I could come back to writing a better description, if someone else doesn't beat me to the punch.

My current project in life is not audio FLOSS communication/advocacy/PR/networking/etc.

Revising the description to catch the eye/understanding of a designer (so as to catch the eye/understanding of potential/current users) would help, natch. Likely the best place to garner assistance on such copywriting/editing matter would be linuxmusicians.com.
